Visa Expands Stablecoin Settlement Pilot to Nine Blockchains, Hits $7 Billion Run Rate

Stablecoin News –  On April 29, 2026, Visa announced the addition of five new blockchains to its global stablecoin settlement pilot, bringing the total to nine networks and achieving a $7 billion annualized run rate. The expansion marks a significant acceleration in Visa’s integration of stablecoins into core payment infrastructure.The newly supported blockchains include Coinbase’s Base, Polygon, Canton Network, Circle’s Arc, and Stripe-backed Tempo.

These join existing integrations with Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, and Stellar. The pilot now allows issuers and acquirers greater flexibility to settle obligations with Visa using stablecoins instead of traditional banking rails.The program has seen 50% quarter-over-quarter growth, demonstrating strong momentum as institutions seek faster, 24/7 settlement options. 

Visa’s multi-chain approach enables partners to select networks best suited to their needs while maintaining a unified settlement layer.Rubail Birwadker, Global Head of Growth Products and Strategic Partnerships at Visa, emphasized that expanding blockchain support helps partners scale stablecoin usage efficiently. 

The development supports broader institutional adoption, particularly for cross-border payments and treasury operations.

This milestone reinforces Visa’s commitment to evolving its network for digital assets. With stablecoins increasingly used in remittances and business settlements, the enhanced pilot positions Visa as a central player in the convergence of traditional finance and blockchain technology. Further expansions and regional rollouts are expected throughout 2026.
